Richard Hall Smith

Owner - GoPadelUK

Owner, Co-founder and director of GoPadelUK

After a successful career on the real tennis pro tour I found the sport of padel in 2016…
From the moment I played the sport I knew this was a game I wanted to bring to the UK!

I successfully launched the club at Prested Hall, after proving the model I decided the next step was to set up my own club encompassing all the wonderful aspects of the sport in my own club. Park Drive in Maldon was the perfect location to launch a ‘proper padel club’ where all the aspects of padel are on offer. I travel reguarly to Spain to spend time with my coach, Jorge Martinez. Jorge is one of the finest coaches in Spain and has taught me the sport from the very beginning. It is vital to me to continue my development in Spain which is highly regarded as the home of padel, these skills can then be put into my own game, my coaching and all aspects of the club.

I take a lot of pride in my playing, coaching and event running, I have competed in events across the UK and Spain and continue to try and rise through the national rankings. I have coached across the UK and Europe and I’m always keen to learn from more experienced coaches and feed that knowledge back to the UK players. I have also run successful events across the UK and Spain this includes launching our own tour of events, we have now successfully merged our events with the national governing body as the continue to thrive. Look forward to continuing to improve as a player and climb up the rankings, continue to grow as a coach, run bigger and better events and finally launch more Go Padel clubs across the UK!

Sam Jones

Go Padel Uk Ambassador

Hi my name is Sam Jones, I am 19 years old and
I am currently ranked number 4 in the UK.

I have travelled all over the world to represent my country and I am very proud to say I have played for them 5 times so far!

I was 14 when I first started playing Padel in David Lloyd Chigwell where I am from. I was 16 when I moved to Marbella to train and play and after a year of living and playing there I decided to move on to even bigger things and go to Barcelona. That’s where I signed my first big sponsorship deal with HEAD. Since being in Barcelona I have been competing in the Catalan circuit, the biggest circuit in the world with over 2000 players all at a very high level, and also played the world Padel tour. I am ranked 90th in the Catalunia and 330th in the world!

Recently I have been spending time with Richard Hall and I have just become a part time owner of our brand new business GO Padel UK – which is very exciting!

In the future I would love to continue to represent my country and improve my rankings in the UK, Barcelona, and the world! I will keep training and travelling all over the world to play the biggest tournaments around so I can represent Go Padel UK and improve and take my game to the next level.

Exciting times in an exciting sport!

Go Padel coach

Ewan Ramsden

Pro Coach - Brentwood

Hi, my name is Ewan Ramsden, I have been playing padel since early 2019.

I have a good a sporting background especially with racket sports – tennis and squash , from a young age.

I play padel every day, where possible, but at least 5 times a week. I love it! – and constantly train to improve my game in the UK and Spain. My aim is to be one of the top players in the UK.

I am the founder of EverythingPadel, a racket and merchandise business supporting players with the best equipment. I have combined my favourite sport with starting a complementary business that sources product direct from Manufacturers in Spain.

I have achieved a standard where I am competing in national high ranking competitions and winning local tournaments. I’m incredibly excited to join the GoPadel UK coaching team, helping people to master techniques and to progress to the next level.
